Shpresa Programme End of Year Celebrations!

Shpresa Programme End of Year Celebrations

The Shpresa Programme recently hosted a series of end-of-year celebrations across various locations, uniting beneficiaries, partners, and colleagues to honour the year’s achievements. These events showcased the community’s spirit through shared homemade dishes prepared by women and our “Come Dine with Me” kitchen volunteers, traditional dances, and cultural performances by children and young people in the Albanian language, reflecting our rich heritage. The vibrant photos captured during these festivities beautifully depict the unity and joy experienced by all.

A special highlight was the distribution of toys donated for children and young people through ELBA’s Toy Appeal, bringing smiles to many faces. Attendees expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed—from beneficiaries to partners, staff, and volunteers—acknowledging their support in overcoming daily challenges and their role in providing motivation and inspiration. Special thanks were extended to the “Breaking the Chains” befrienders and the MiCLU team for joining the main celebration, as well as to all partners and funders who make our work possible.

These end-of-year celebrations not only commemorated the accomplishments of the past year but also reinforced the bonds within our community, setting a positive tone for the year ahead.

A heartfelt thank you was directed to our extraordinary CEO, Luljeta Nuzi, who joined the event live on Facebook. Her vision, passion, and hard work have been instrumental in the birth and growth of Shpresa, making it one of the most successful organizations over the past 23 years. Luli, you are one in a million; it is a privilege and honour for all of us to have learned from you, grown with you, and to be constantly inspired by your leadership, vision, and brilliance.

Staff members also extended their gratitude to all volunteers, teachers, and sessional staff, as well as to parents who motivate their children to learn and connect with their origins and heritage, including learning their mother tongue. The Shpresa Programme’s social media platforms shared these moments live, allowing those who could not attend to partake in the joy and highlighting the collective efforts that made the events memorable.
